Working with SPSS

Here is a collection of resources that may be useful.

Andrew Garth from Sheffield Hallam University prepared this practical guide.

There is an excellent set of resources, text and video and sample data files at Central Michigan University.

There is also a useful document prepared by Dane Bertram from the University of Calgary on the analysis of Likert Scale data. If you want to play with the data, here is a spreadsheet with the data he uses in his paper.

A useful explanation of chi squared states is here. And here from the University of Scranton is a step by step tutorial on how to do one in SPSS and there is another step by step account here. A table of chi square values degrees of freedom and probabilities can be found here with clear instructions for use.
